About The Formula
What is the texture like?
Eden has a lightweight silky glide that’s never sticky or tacky. It mimics the feeling of natural lubrication.
What is osmolality? What does iso-osmotic mean?
A lubricant’s osmolality is a measure of how concentrated its dissolved molecules are compared to the fluids and tissues it touches – like vulvar skin or vaginal secretions. The osmolality of a lubricant is important because the epithelial skin layers are constantly trying to maintain homeostasis, or an equilibrium of osmolality, when they encounter new substances (such as lube). When a lubricant’s osmolality is much higher than this (hyper-osmotic), it can pull water out of vaginal or vulvar tissue to balance concentrations, which causes dryness, irritation and tissue damage. Eden is formulated to be iso-osmotic, meaning its osmolality is within the same range as normal vaginal secretions. Normal vaginal secretions typically range from 260–290 mOsm/kg, Eden has an osmolality of 264 mOsm/kg.
Is Eden pH balanced and safe for the vaginal microbiome?
Yes, Eden is pH balanced. The vagina naturally maintains an acidic pH between 3.8 and 5, which helps support healthy bacteria (like lactobacilli) and creates a protective environment against infections.
Is Eden fragrance-free, flavor-free, and free from common irritants?
Yes. Eden contains no fragrance, no flavoring, no glycerin, no parabens, no dyes, and no propylene glycol. Our formula is intentionally minimal to reduce irritation risk.
Is Eden safe for menopause or vaginal dryness?
Yes. Eden’s hydrating formula with hyaluronic acid and aloe helps soothe dryness and maintain comfort, making it a great option for menopausal or perimenopausal use.
Why are preservatives included in the formula?
Because safety matters. All water-based lubricants need preservatives to prevent bacteria and mold (trust us, you don’t want that growing in your bottle). Eden uses safe, minimal preservatives that keep it fresh without irritation.
Safety & Compatibility
Why does lube sometimes burn or irritate the vulva?
Many lubricants contain ingredients like fragrance, flavoring, glycerin, parabens, propylene glycol, or high-osmolality formulas that can pull moisture from the skin. These can cause burning, stinging, redness, or dryness. Eden avoids these triggers, focusing on skin-supportive hydration and proper pH and osmolality. If your skin barrier is compromised, such as with small tears or fissures, you may feel stinging with any product, even gentle ones.
Who is Eden designed for?
Eden is made for anyone with a vulva, at any age or stage of life. Especially those with sensitive skin, dryness, or conditions like lichen sclerosus who need a gentle, pH-balanced lubricant that actually feels good.
Is Eden condom-compatible?
Yes. Eden is a water-based lubricant that’s safe to use with latex condoms; helping you stay protected without irritation.
Is Eden toy-safe?
Absolutely. Eden plays well with most silicone and body-safe toys. Just rinse with warm water after use.
Can men use Eden? What about anal play?
Yes, Eden is safe for men too. It can be used for anal play, though keep in mind the rectal pH is slightly different than the vulva, so always listen to your body and reapply as needed.
Can I use Eden during my period?
Yep. Eden’s gentle, water-based formula is safe to use anytime, including during your period.
